HOW TO MAKE AVAL PONGAL / POHA PONGAL
Aval
Pongal/ Poha Pongal
Ingredients:
Aval / Poha – 1cup
Jaggery – ¾ cup
Coconut (Shredded) – ¼ cup
Ghee – 4 tsp
Cashews and Raisins –
10 nos.
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Dry Ginger Powder - 1/2 tsp
Water - 1 cup
Method:
1.
Sprinkle half cup of water in Aval. In
half an hour it will get softer.
2.
In pan pour half cup of water and add
jaggery and let it to boil and filter it.
3.
Pour the jaggery mixture back in pan and
add the shredded coconut to it.
4.
Add cardamom powder and dry ginger
powder to the jaggery mixture.
5.
Now add the soaked aval to the mixture and mix it gently with
wooden ladle.
6.
Temper the Raisin and Cashew in ghee and
add it to the aval mixture and mix it gently.

MIX THE JAGGERY AND COCONUT |
MIX CARDAMOM AND DRY GINGER POWDER |
MIX GENTLE WITH WOODEN LADLE |
HEAT THE GHEE |
TEMPER THE RAISINS AND CASHEWS |
