COCONUT - DAL POLI

HOW TO MAKE COCONUT- DAL POLI



     INGREDIENTS:
·        For Purnam
1.     Channa dal – 1 cup
2.     Shredded Coconut – 1 ½ cup
3.     Jaggery – 1 ½ cup
·        For Poli dough
1.     Maida / All-purpose flour – 2 cups
2.     Rice flour – ½ cup
·        Oil – ½ cup
·        Ghee – 2 tsp
·        Salt
   METHOD:
      To make Purnam:
·        Boil the channa dal with 1 cup of water to 3/4th texture ( it should not be over boiled).
·        Strain it without  water, let it cool then blend it to nice texture.
·        Roast the shredded coconut with 2 tsp of ghee.
·        Add little bit water to Jaggery and cook it until it melts then filter the dust.
·        In the same pan mix it with shredded coconut, cook until it get thickens.
·        Now add the blended channa dal to the above jaggery mixture
·        Mix it together evenly.
·        Make small balls of the above purnam.
     To make Poli:
·        Take the All-purpose flour  add some salt.
·        Add some water  and oil to  make soft dough
·        Make balls from the dough.
v Now put the dough ball and put it on the rice flour to make it non sticky.
v Flatten it  and put the filling purnam ball on it and cover it as the ball as shown in the picture.
v Now roll it as chappati
v Put it on dosa tawa.

v Flip it over two sides and sprinkle some ghee on it.

IN PAN HEAT THE GHEE

ADD SHREDDED COCONUT

BLEND THE BOILED CHANNA DAL

IN PAN ADD THE JAGGERY WATER AND COCONUT


ADD SOME GHEE AND COOK IT

MIX THE JAGGERY MIXTURE TO THE CHANNA DAL

MIX FINELY TO MAKE PURNAM

ALL PURPOSE FLOUR

MAKE IT AS DOUGH BY ADDING SOME WATER AND OIL


DOUGH, RICE FLOUR AND OIL

MAKE BALLS OUT OF DOUGH AND PURNAM

ROLL THE DOUGH LIKE THIS

PUT THE FILLING PURNAM ON CENTRE



COVER IT AS BALL




ROLL IT AS YOU DO FOR CHAPPATI



IN TAWA FLIP IT OVER TWO SIDES AND SPRINKLE SOME GHEE ON IT


POLI IS READY
